I had the same thing happen to me. I waited about a week after the first test and took another. It was positive. I asked my doctor about it and he said that sometimes the Hcg in your urine is not enough for the first test to pick up.

Being on an IUD and getting symptoms such as cramps and spotting is not your period, nor is it likely a pregnancy. These are common side effects of having an IUD.
