I'm 5'9 and want a slender 'model' body At 140 lbs I feel like my ribs and hips will pop through my skin but I'm still not as small as I want Is my bone structure just too big to have a model body?

According to industry standards, models 5'8" and taller should weigh between 100 lbs to 125 lbs maximum. So being 140 pounds would make it extremely difficult to be signed as a fashion/runway model. However, measurements are a more important factor.
Traditional fashion and runway models are 34-24-34 (bust, waist and hips in inches) or smaller. If your measurements are larger and depending on what dress size you wear, you might be eligible for plus size modeling, which is for models 5'8"-6'0" that are between sizes 12-18 (size 10 isn't as common but is sometimes used).
