Nothing. They are just two words from different backgrounds that mean the same thing. 'Matrimony' comes from the Latin 'Matrimonium' which means something like, mother state or mother condition. This word means 'wedlock' so a woman can legally and morally become a mother. 'Marriage' comes from the Vulgar Latin - Italian word, "Maritaggio', which meant a joining of man and woman, so that the woman can legally and morally become a mother. Now, this term would presumably apply to man and man as well as woman and woman.

It is very important for a business to know what their liabilities are and to ensure that nothing will happen to either their employees, merchandise, or others involved in the business, aka customers.
