Have you checked all of the High Tension leads from the distributor to the plugs, or just one or two? Same with HT lead from Coil to Distributor, Check Distributor cap for cracks

it could be a number of things...im no diesel mechanic but check your spark plugs and spark plugs wires, it seems your battery is ok if the car turns over...it may not be firing if the car doesnt start...so my 1st guess would be to check if ur getting any spark at the spark plugs there is only glow plugs not spark plugs. were talken bout a diesel right?

Here are possible causes of no spark on the 1980 CM400, starting from the easiest to fix: kill switch turned to "off" position. Bad spark plugs. im sorry to say man, but the other 3 spark plugs u cant find, are under the exaust manifol.. its an $800 tune up for these galants.. sucks but its reality.. good luck..You can have the plugs changed for around $500.00. Been there & done it.
