m11x, anyday. macbooks are way overpriced for what their giving. m11x is also a much better gaming computer. True, but, Alienware does too. Better value for ASUS. But the M11x is amazing. I have it right now. :)

The main difference between m11x and m17x is that the screen size. m11x is 11inches whereas 17x is 17inches. To decide which is more powerful, it depends on the internal components which u can customize. Though usually the larger m17x is more powerful than the m11x due to larger space used to fit better internal components.

No... but you could just go to dell's site to get an external disc drive it plugs in to the usb port

If its just for typing you would get more battery life out of a macpro. But the alienware are very very cool, and very fast if you wanted to play games... Id get an alienware.
