Its normal for there to be a bump there up until the child is almost a year old. The bump is the soft spot where the bones of the skull are not fused together yet so the baby's head can flex to oval during delivery. It will eventually fuse together and make one one solid bone structure. Until the child gets older, the soft spot will be an area of safety concern.
