When the information is not given on what the problem are there is not a way to know how to handle them. Knowing what the following problems are will allow someone to know how to handle them.

Perhaps a "system start disk".
if its only a few gigabytes below its just memory used to help it operate properly,if it is more then either your computers memory is full and it overflows onto the hard disk or you/someone else has already put files on there.

There are a few potential benefits of doing a disk defrag regularly. It will improve the performance of the hard drive and speed up access to files. The files are organized more efficiently and space is created.
This question is impossible to answer accurately ! Computer files can be as small as a few kilobytes, or as large as a terabyte - or more !
You'd need a bootdisk and a copy of the files in question. Bootdisk.com has some. Also you can find a few common system files by googling for them, however the easiest way would be to just get a windows disk for the operating system you have and do a repair install.
Short answer yes but how much depends on the file. There are however a few file types you do not want to compress most notably the Quicken data files and jpg aka jpeg files. These files and a few others will have a problem being opened if compressed too far.
Well, isn't that just a happy little accident! When the tally doesn't show any companies on the disk, it could be due to a few reasons. Don't worry, let's take a moment to breathe and gently troubleshoot together. Check if the disk is properly connected, the companies are saved in the correct location, and the tally software is up to date. With a few gentle strokes, we'll have those companies back on the screen in no time.
