YOU COULD TRY PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Many people think the organization is nothing more than an "abortion mill", but it's not quite like that. They help people PLAN PARENTHOOD. They perform tests, give advise about childbearing, provide prenatal care and much much more. They may charge on a sliding scale, based on your income, I'm not completely sure. Also, your fiance should be checked for low sperm count or even no sperm count (sterile). You won't know unless you are both tested. If you or he is reluctent to get tested, there are a few things to consider. (Many men don't want to go to a doctor or lab, masturbate and provide a "sample" in a little cup.) First off, I would wonder if he has a low sperm count. Many avoidable things can cause this. Does he wear tight briefs or boxer shorts?? Does he go to the gym regularly and sit in the steam room and Jacuzzi for any length of time?? Sounds like weird questions but here is the reason. In order for sperm to thrive and multiply, they need a pretty constant temperature. Think of the scrotum as a thermostat. When the testes get too hot, the scrotum relaxes and allows them to cool off; when the testes get too cold, the scrotum "shrinks" up to keep them warm. Therfore, wearing tight briefs keeps the testes "up" constantly, not allowing the scrotum to do it's job. This can lower sperm count. Also, hot tubs and saunas also defeat the purpose by causing the testes to be too hot for too long. This can also lower sperm count. If he is not sterile, wears boxers, and never uses a sauna or hottub, then it could be an issue with you. Call Planned Parenthood and also some local doctors to see what the cost is for a fertility test, and a sperm count. It may be more affordable than you think. ALSO- one quick comment-not passing judgement-just being practical: if you are unmarried and have no insurance, think about the cost of pregnancy and delivery and infant care before you make such a big decision. Good Luck to you both. <<

If you've been having constant vaginal discharge, lasting longer than usual and your fiance and you are trying to conceive, this could well be an early sign of pregnancy. It may not be too soon to do a home pregnancy test even if your period is not due for a few days as some tests can detect the presence of hCG a week after conception has taken place.
