I am having problems getting my computer and printer to work together and have my brother's printer as my default and Microsoft xpsDocument writer as the one with the check mark at. Is this my probl?

If the checkmark is by the Microsoft xps document, then it is set as the default printer.You need to right click on your brother's printer in the control panel and select it as your default printer.
