My biggest piece of advice here is this: Learn to use the princess. Carrying her around on your head can be annoying, but turn it into an asset. She's great for use as a weapon, and sometimes you need to leave her on a lever.
Then I would say: The biggest thing to do is guess & check. You are looking for the right hole to fall down -- and if you miss, you have to go back up without the princess, listen to her lecture you, and then pick her up again.
Mostly, just solve the dungeon the way you normally would, and try not to think too hard about the princess. If worse comes to worse, you drop her, but you always know where to find her. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to post them on my wall (Bri Lexen).

In Ocarina of Time in the Lost Woods, creatures called Skull Kids can be found on tree stumps. The one that stands alone will give you a Piece of Heart for playing Saria's Song for him, and will also buy the Skull Mask from you during the Happy Mask Salesman sidequests. He will not be there if you are playing in the adult section of the game. The two that stand together on a 'branched' stump will play a ocarina mini game with you if you bring out your ocarina, where you have to repeat the notes they play on their flutes back to them. These two will attack you with slingshots if you try to approach them as an adult.
