Disliking whips or crops isn't really about the whip or crop itself, but about how it is being used. It is not cruel- it doesn't even hurt- to tap a horse with a crop. It is as if you have fallen asleep and someone gently nudges you to wake you up. It is just a gentle reminder from the rider to the horse that it is time to move forward. The same thing applys to whips, which don't even touch the horse, they just crack in midair. The horse dislikes the sound, so it moves forward. However, if someone is cruel and stupid enough to mercilessly beat the horse to the point where it bleeds- that is cruel. And illegal.

the only npc's that buy whips are "general store's" and they dont give that much money. I suggest that you sell them to other people in the game because they sell for way more than you would ever get from an npc.
