Three of the Cullens - Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett - believed that Bella had to be silenced because she had noticed to much when Edward saved her from the van, each for their own reasons. Jasper believed Bella could expose them if she so chose and therefor represented a danger to Alice. Anything that put Alice in danger had to go. Rosalie, while also concerned about exposure, was more jealous than anything else. She was miffed that Edward thought Bella more beautiful than her. Emmett, not caring if Bella lived or died, naturally took Rosalie's side because they are a couple.
