transmission control module (TCM). it can make the solenoid pack inside the transmission stop working(it can burn out the solenoids) if it got messed up. i had this problem with my sebring. i replaced the transmission 4 times, paid 2 times... found out later on my own that i shorted out my TCM and that was the cause.
