I have been on Lexapro for over 3 years and stopped cold turkey. I have the 'head sparks' and have had them for 3 weeks now. It has definitely interfered with concentration which causes agitation and irritability. I have also not had one night without seriously bizarre dreams that last the entire night. Whatever it takes, it can't last forever and can't say Lexapro did anything for me but cause serious weight gain. It's easier to deal with life than to mask it with medication; I recommend getting involved in self help books.

If you stopped taking Lexapro about 2 months ago and are feeling worthless and restless and have awful mood swings should you go back on Lexapro?

Did you stop this medication with your doctor's suggestion or on your own? I would recommend that you see a psychiatrist/physician before deciding what to do. It is possible that your body took 2 months to totally get rid of the effects of Lexapro and you are feeling the symptoms again that initiated the start of the med. If it were me or someone I know, I would strongly suggest starting back on a medication or to talk to a counselor/psychologist.

Has anyone had trouble with their gallbladder because you took Lexapro?

I did and ended it with having my gallbladder removed and weaning off Lexapro in one week. My first problems with my gallbladder arose a couple of months into taking Lexapro for the first time years before. I stopped and then I had a pregnancy and about 5 year with no lexapro. When I had a traumatic family sitiuation I tried Lexapro again and again a couple of months into it I started to have gallbladder attacks. I took one lexapro after my surgery and it made me so sick I have vowed to never touch it again. It sucked because it really did great for my anxiety.

Can lexapro withdrawal symptoms be severe if even one day is skipped?

I am currently in the process of trying to get off Lexapro after 9 months of use. I have been trying to tamper off for the last 2 months...and still trying. While on Lexapro, I would sometimes go 2 or 3 days without taking one before experiencing any side effects.

Will restarting Lexapro after 7-10 days without it stop the withdrawal symptoms and if so when?

I attempted to stop taking Lexapro a few months ago, after 6 days of the withdrawal symptoms I went right back on it. The symptoms stopped by the 2nd day and I felt like myself again. Lexapro works wonders with depression but wreaks havoc with it's discontinuation syndrom!

Can lexapro take a few months for full effect?

Lexapro will take a minimum of 3 weeks to hit a therapeutic level in your body (told by doctor). It should not take a few months however i am not a doctor.

Are there any long-term side-effects of using Lexapro for a short while?

I don't know about "short while", as I'm not sure how long you mean. A few months? A few years? How long is "short" vs. "long" to you? I took Lexapro for about 3 years straight. Currently, 4-5 years after quitting Lexapro, my formerly normal libido has NOT returned to what I recall as a "normal" level. In fact, it's hardly there at all. I don't know if this is due to general life stress or Lexapro, but I had plenty of the same stress BEFORE I went on Lexapro, so I'm suspecting the drug had/still has something to do with it. This drug is still fairly "new" to market, and little is known about long term side effects - the manufacturers and FDA don't usually research the side effects exhaustively before approving a new drug.

Will you have withdrawal symptoms from lexapro 5 mg to 2.5 mg and any after the 2.5 Only on Lexapro for 3 months?

Everyone reacts differently from withdrawal or addition of medications, therefore I am unable to answer your question black and white. However, if you were on Lexapro 5mg by the mouth once per day for three months and now, as per your Doctors instructions are reducing it to 2.5mg and then discontinuing the medication you will most likely have no withdrawal symptoms or side effects.

What is the shelf life of Lexapro?

2 years for 40mg & 18 months for 20mg

Only on lexapro for 2 months what's the best way to quit?

The best way is to Speak the the doctor who prescribed it. There is a weening process with lexapro. Due to its half life (the amount of time it stays in your system after you've stopped taking it) you will have to slowly cut down your intake until you stop taking it comepletely. Be sure to work with your Doctor on this as some side effects can occur if you stop taking it cold turkey. As a side note if you have only been taking them for two months it may be a bit early to think about stopping the medication so soon. Even if you feel better stopping now could cause a relapse of symptoms. Again speak to your Doctor first.

Can you drink alcohol while taking chloroquine?

I have been on Lexapro for 6 months (10mg). I have drank alcohol on Lexapro and usually doesn't effect me until the day after and the day after that. Night sweats, insomnia and rapid fire (out of control heart beat) are the worst part. Less drastic was the anxiety that returned which is why i was taking Lexapro in the first place. I am now getting off the drug. The sexual side effects are the main reason I am stopping this drug. I had rather have anxiety then be a sexual gimp.
