If you have inflammatory joint disease, you have Rhematoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriasis related arthritis or another rhematologic problem. These are autoimmune conditions. The inflammation is due to your immune system failing to recognize the joints as your own tissue. The white cells treat it as a pathogen just like a transplanted organ.

The only way to treat this long term is anti-inflammatory medication. Steroids are used but they cause weight gain and other problems when taken long term. Methotrexate is used in RA. There's a new one out there that's supposed to be the best yet. I can't remember the name.

Bottom line is that you NEED to see a rheumatologist. They're the only doctors who really know these diseases and the latest treatments.
