I have this smashed bullet that my boyfriend gave me when he was teaching me how to shoot and i was thinking it would be cool to melt it into something like a ring if that's possible?

Well, two materials make up most bullets. They can be all lead, like most .22 rimfire ammo, or they can be lead cored bullets covered in jacketing metal, which is a copper/nickel alloy. Lead is too soft to be used as jewelry, and the jacketing metal, while it may LOOK like gold, melts at a MUCH higher temperature than gold, so would be very hard to work.
Now assuming that this is the BULLET (the part that comes out of the barrel) and not a cartridge, you might consider seeing if a jeweler can make it into a pendant.
Please note- we can't tell your age here- if you are still in school, use some caution. In the name of "zero tolerance", schools have expelled/suspended students for having civil war era bullets, empty cartridge casings, or drawing a picture of a gun. If you are a student, be careful your jewelry does not get you in trouble.
