You should always wait until after your braces are off to get any lip piercings because it does affect it and it is easier for them to get caught and injure yourself
While its healing, your tongue will swell and you will have a lisp. it isn't permanent though. Only while healing when your tongue is swollen. So don't get it if you'll have to go to work or school in the next few days.
Hi I have my ears, tragus and belly pierced too! Next i was thinkin about getting my tongue and hips done if that helps you at all . . .
No it's not scar tissue, it's just the tongue's equivalent to a scab. This will disappear over the next few days as the piercing heals and toughens.
no. honestly i didn't even feel a thing and anyone you ask would say the same thing. but it does get sore for the next week source: i peirced my tongue web my self and have had it for 4 months
no I've pierced it many times and talk on the phone with the person the next day and they are talking normal . its cuz your tongue doesn't 'swell up with that piercing
right now, my braces are blue, wut colour do yall think i should get next? <christian>
I've had my braces for almost two years.... the only reason I was ever excited about braces was that I would eventually get them off and have awesome teeth:] but BRACES suck you don't enjoy eating especially if you have rubberbands and EVERYTHING gets stuck in your teeth and by the next meal you still have food in your teeth
Well piercings done by an experienced professional body piercer are next to painless. The fear factor thing you need to get over on your own, just keep in mind that any piercing done by a professional body piercer is going to be done safely and correctly.
If you are only getting braces, it should be your next appointment, that's when it was for me. But your dentist may be different. Btw eat like crazy before you get them as the following week will be hard!! Good luck
At 4 weeks your tongue is no where close to being healed, so swelling and the magic tongue doughnut are not uncommon. stay on your clod stuff and keep the aftercare up, don't forget your Ibuprofen for swelling and in the next two weeks things should start to look a bit more normal. Not everyone handles a tongue piercing the same, some take longer to deal with the swelling so hang in there and stay on the cold stuff.
