I mainly just need the printing capabilities, but would it be worth it to invest in a multifunction copier, like the HP Photosmart, instead of buying a cheap printer?

To determine if it is wiser to invest in a multifuctional copier or just buy a plain printer will vary based on your printing needs. The HP Photosmart will print up to 30 ppm. If you are going to be printing personal pictures or business photos the HP photosmart is wonderful. If you are just looking for a printer to print black and white everday things then you should go for the cheap printer. Also keep in mind the cost of the ink, now days you spend more on ink then the printer itself.
