OK, GOOD QUESTION, THERE COULD BE TONS OF PROBLEMS WRONG WITH YOUR REVERSE LIGHTS. ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN A CAR ARE THE HARDEST PARTS TO INSPECT AND FIX. ITS BECAUSE YOUR SENSOR ON THE TRANSMISSION COULD BE BAD OR THE SWITCH COULD BE OFF. MAYBE EVEN YOUR WIRE COULD BE BROKEN, AND IT WOULD SUCK IF IT IS IN YOUR CARS FRAME, BECAUSE IT IS SOO HARD TO LOCATE AND FIX. THE BEST THING TO DO IS FIND THE CHEAPEST PRICED MECHANIC IN YOUR TOWN AND GO TO THEM AND ASK IF THEY COULD JUST HAVE A QUIK PEAK AT IT, OR JUTS DO A FULL INSPECTIOIN IF YOU WOUKLD LIKE. GOOD LUCK
In some cars, the reverse parking light is given only on one side of the tail lamp because the other light is either broken or burnt out. Take your car to the shop to get the light replaced.
Remove the connector from the back of your 2003 Cadillac parking light assembly. Take hold of the lightbulb, push in and turn at the same time to remove it. Reverse the process to install the new parking lightbulb.
Hi, did you ever find out why your A140 reverse light always stay on even in other gears, I have the same issue, i have checked the bulbs, replaced the reverse light switch and still have them always on..

Open the hood; there is a small Phillips screw at the front corner of the fender above the parking light housing that has to be removed. Once removed, grasp the parking light housing and pull forward out towards the front; there is a pin at the lower portion of the housing that has to be pulled and un-seated from it's socket. It's not a screw, it will release with outer pressure. Once the housing is out of the truck, the bulb socket can be removed from the housing by turning the socket slightly to release and remove it. Reverse the process after the bulb is replaced.
Defective reverse light switch.
Should be common to the parking/tailight fuse
Sounds like the drving light switch is malfunctioning. I would have that replaced or do it yourself then. Good luck. Or see if the parking light switch located on top of your steering column in on.
You have an electrical fault
take out the headlight. you'll be able to see the back of the parking light once you do this. the wiring harness should come off with a slight twist and a gentle pull. change you're lame plug and reverse the procedure
inside the fender well you will see where the spring ends that holds the parking light, take needle nose pliers and gently pull tip of spring and it will release parking light. Reverse procedures to connect again
