Yes, it can happen. If your rabbit is still alive, you should take it to the vet immediately so you can be sure and either save its life or let it die peacefully.

In rabbits, head tilt (torticollis) is a common effect of stroke. Head tilt is where the rabbit's head is tilted to one side. The rabbit may not be able to walk straight and might move in circles instead. In severe cases, the rabbit won't be able to stand and can only roll around trying to find the ground. The rabbit's eyes may be moving back and forth.

Paralysis on one side of the face or body is another sign of stroke in rabbits. The bunny may be drooling because of this.

Seizure is another sign of stroke.

General signs of distress might also point to a stroke, including:

- the bunny stops eating, drinking, and/or grooming

- he grits his teeth in pain

- he's lethargic or reclusive, hiding, depressed, shows no interest in his surroundings

- he has difficulty moving around

If you notice these bad signs or any signs of ill-health in your bunny, bring him to a vet as soon as possible. See the related questions below for more help and links.

Your still born rabbit keeps moving?

If the 'dead' rabbit is moving around then it is unlikely it is actually dead. Sounds like you would be best off contacting a vet. It is possible the rabbit has been born with mobility problems or other issues and this is why you think the bunny is 'still born'

How do you relax a nervous rabbit?

Stroke it, groom it, hold it and really try to find out why it's nervous. I know that if you have your rabbit outside then it may see a cat or something in the garden and be nervous.
