I try to downloading instalous for my iPod but cydia shuts down. What do I do?

Cydia is stuck downloading packages I tried to add a new repo but when it was just about done it just stopped doing anything and stayed on downloading packages. now i cant go back to cydia?
Try rebooting your iDevice by holding down the power and home button untill it turns off. Then release both buttons and power it back up
