I upgraded my account on wow to burning crusade but my standard addition key doesnt work when you put it in the upgrade account part on the website?

You will know that your account has been upgraded when you can access the new content and levels. For Burning Crusade, one example is the ability to make Blood Elves and Dranei. For Wrath of the Lich King, this is the ability to make Death Knights.

If your WoW account got banned and it is permanent then you will need to buy a completely new account from a retailer like walmart or bestbuy and if you wish to have The Burning Crusade enabled on the account you will have to upgrade it which can be done online now I beleive. But you will need to upgrade the account again. In addition: you also have to purchase a new burning crusade key

It sounds like you don't have full access to the machine; do your parents have control of the machine? If so then they need to load the Burning Crusade then logoff and let you logon.

Blizzard recently changed it to where "The Burning Crusade" is now included in new accounts, and all vanilla (original game) accounts were automatically upgraded to BC accounts. So no, you do not have to buy them separately.
