Ive always stuck the with the standard 1 year inhome warranty. If you get more than that that's fine but if you want to replace parts to make it faster or something that could void the warranty
Yes if you have to open the computer up in any way then it does void the warranty. If there is a warranty there is no eason to pay for parts yourself.

If your warranty is still available for your laptop, you can send it back to Dell for a website. Alternatively, you can buy a new motherboard from Dell's official website.
I had this problem with a first gen shuffle once take it to a local apple store google it and have them check it out apperantly mines motherboard was f#@ked up and my warranty went out like a month ago.
Because Apple uses a closed architecture computer system, you cannot build an Apple system without using parts purchased from reputable Authorized Apple Resellers. Taking apart/building your own Apple system is not covered by Apple's warranty.
