i meant to say is it bad if my cat hisses at me or no
if it is a new cat it is provably protecting it's surroundings and/or needs to get used to that cat or animal after a while (few days or so) if the cat is still hisses there is something is up. if that happens GET HIM AWAY INSTANTLY
it looks very weird and hisses
Normally you would hear a hissing sound accompanied by your cat being angry
The mother cat hisses at her kittens to establish boundaries, discipline them, or protect them from perceived threats.
that's because when they see another cat on there teretory they freak out and hiss !! that's what mine does
The poem is about a green eyed cat. The cat plays, scratches, hisses until the cat gets tired. Once the cat is tired of playing, she needs a nap.
I think that most cats will hiss at another animal or cat if they were not brought up with another animal or cat. My cat is not Siamese, and she hisses at other animals and other cats, so I think that it is normal behavior for all cats, not just Siamese cats.
A cat is typically more angry when it hisses as this is a defensive behavior usually triggered by fear or agitation. Growling can also indicate anger, but it is often a sign of territorial aggression or a warning to back off. Both hissing and growling are ways for a cat to communicate their discomfort or displeasure.
then you've constantly provoked it. stay calm, don't touch or pick up if it hisses.
When a cat sees another cat, it will usually hiss (if the same gender) because the unknown cat is on your cat's territory. Your cat feels the need to get that cat off, so it hisses and makes itself look bigger to scare it away. If the cat is a different gender... well, that cat might be allowed in.
The plural is "hisses." "Hisses" is also the present form of the verb "to hiss".
If a cat hisses at and scratches you it could mean many things. The cat could simply not like you. It could be angry or be scared. Often a cat or kitten who is feeling threatened will hiss and scratch in an attempt to defend itself. A kitten could also be over stimulated and warning you that it can't take anymore play. I would advise leaving the kitten alone until it calms down and then approach it gently and calmly before petting it.
