No, there's no reason to believe there's something wrong with you if you can't push in a tampon. It doesn't mean anything for your future sex life or future motherhood. Some young women find it difficult to use tampons at first, because of the size of the vagina, size of the tampon, and unfamiliarity with the process. It will likely get easier later. And some women never feel comfortable when using or inserting tampons, and just use pads. That doesn't mean their vaginas are abnormal or not useful.

If you feel like you're forcing the tampon it's likely that you're not relaxed enough or not inserting correctly. If you're tense the vaginal muscles tense causing the vaginal walls to clench together, thus making it difficult to push a tampon through. If you're inserting at the wrong angle then rather than pushing the tampon through the vaginal canal you'd be pushing it into a vaginal wall. Relax and feel for resistance, if you feel resistance then take a deep breath and feel your way past the vaginal wall.

It's possible that you are too tense, or that you are inserting at the wrong angle.

Your vaginal canal is a muscular tube thus if you tense the muscles within the vagina tense causing the vaginal walls to clench together - imagine it like a fist, tense muscles and the first clenches, relax muscles and the first opens. Make sure that you are relaxed, sometimes you can tense even when you don't realise it so try practicing purposefully tensing and relaxing your vaginal muscles. Another good tip here is to masturbate before attempting to insert the tampon the first few times, when aroused the vagina not only relaxes but also lubricates and opens.

Tampons need to be inserted aiming towards the small of your back, if inserted at the wrong angle you push the tampon into the side of a vaginal wall rather than up through the vaginal canal. This is one reason why non-applicator tampons are best for easy insertion, they allow you to feel for resistance so you can adjust angle.

What should you do if you found your son trying to stuff a tampon up his rectum?

Explain to him the function of the rectum and how he could possibly cause internal damage by sticking foreign objects up there. I would also use the opportunity to discuss sexual issues if he is at the experimental/curious age. However, inserting a sterile, lubricated tampon into the anus is generally harmless.

Can you die trying to put a tampon in?

No, you cannot die putting a tampon in - unless something happens to occur during tampon insertion, such as if a plane crashes into your house. In some cases when inserting tampons you can hit the vegus nerve which can cause you to pass out, so it is best to be sitting down just to be safe as if you were to pass out there is a risk of hitting your head - I've never known this happen, let alone someone dying as a result, but I suppose it's possible. Obviously tampons are associated with toxic shock syndrome which can be fatal due to major organ failure.

Do you get pleasure when inserting a tampon?

Yes you can have sexual buttass monkeys within that time you travel through time it will suck in all of the matter inside the universe, and if you reach the end, the ending may cut a rip between the side and hurt you. What im trying to say is that its different for people, some people enjoy it, some don't, but if you use it to masturbate then be careful cuz it will dry you up crazy inside and the edges might cut you.

Does a tampon prevent the sperm from fertilizing the egg at all?

NO !! of course not ,, think about how it got there to start with, no!!!! the sperm got there first... a tampon would just push it in further. Even if you did for some reason choose to have sex with a tampon in, this will not prevent pregnancy because the tampon would just absorb some of the semen, and it would still be "in there" Good luck trying to find the tampon after having sex with it in.

Can you use tampons with a prolapse ring?

No, a tampon cannot get stuck in the uterus. Tampons sit within the vaginal canal, at the top of the vaginal canal is the cervix which is the opening to the uterus - the opening within the cervix is too small for a tampon to pass through, also the tampon sits slightly lower down than the cervix.

Can you put a tampon in the wrong hole?

Not possible, unless the person inserting the item deliberately does it, has absolutely no feeling in the nether regions or somebody else is doing the inserting and has no knowledge of what the item is used for. It is not a butt plug. It would be extremely difficult. You have three holes, the anus (the ***hole), the vagina, and the urethra (the hole you pee from.) The urethra is really small, so it wouldn't fit, and it would hurt A LOT putting it in the anus, and it would be hard to do.

When you sit after applying a tampon does it hurt?

It shouldn't hurt at all when you are wearing a tampon, if it does something is wrong. If it hurts when you sit down it is likely that you have not inserted the tampon far enough, thus as you sit down the vaginal muscles push against the tampon lower down in the vaginal canal. This is common when first using tampons or if you use applicators, next time try non-applicator and push further.
