"Our trinitatian friends pose a fair question. "If God is only one then how do you explain Jesus being on the right hand of the Father"?

This term the “right hand” goes back to ancient Bible times. It was and still is a figure of speech. Today the term is used as such, “John is my right hand man”. That statement today simply means that John is his good friend and someone that can be counted on. The point is that the term “right hand” is a figurative term. Another figure of speech is that “it is raining cats and dogs”. We know that cats and dogs are not coming down from the sky!

The Bible is full of such figurative terms, parables and typology that in some cases we must know a little of the Eastern customs to understand what is being implied and taught in the Bible passage.

The trinitarians look at this term and teach that it proves that two sit on the throne of God.

If God is omnipresent how then can you sit down on His right side? If God is a Spirit how then can one sit down on the right side of Him? If it possible to sit on the right side of God as a position then we must say that God is not everywhere but that He is limited to space, that He is confined to a certain amount of height and depth. Is God limited to a certain amount of height and depth? I say not!

Because God is an omnipresent Spirit He does not “sit” as we do on a physical throne. The Heaven is His throne. In other words in the universe He sits and reigns, there is no place where He isn’t.

Jesus Christ sat down with all power as Almighty God on the throne by Himself.

The term “sat down” leads us to more understanding of these passages. In understanding the sacrificing of the priests they were not allowed at any time to sit in the Holy place where the sacrificing was done. There was no place to sit. The reason for this is that their sacrificing was never finished. The sins of the people were only pushed ahead another year. When Jesus became our final sacrifice, He at the same time being the high priest, forever sat down as God ending all sacrifices!

So we see the subject is not about how many are sitting on the throne of God but about Jesus sitting down as the almighty God after the final sacrifice!

The term “the almighty” is used 44 times in the Bible. The last verse referring to the almighty is Jesus claiming to be the almighty. How many almighties do we have? Only one and He Jesus, sits on the throne alone!

The term “ the finger of God” can be taken literally but again God wants us to understand His great power and authority. Do you think Jesus reached into people’s lives and literally pluck out demons with His finger? A more clear understanding is that God doesn’t even need a whole hand to cast out demons. In a figurative way of speaking God only needs a finger to cast out the devil! The devil is no match for God!"

The Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are actually one person, but they're not the same. Each persona has different attributes and carries out different actions.

It's hard to understand what we call the Trinity, since our knowledge is finite, not infinite.

We do know that the Bible reveals that Jesus was incarnated for a purpose and that He returned to the Father after having achieved that purpose. It may also not be strictly accurate to say that they are the same person but three persons in the one Godhead -thus the term 'the three in one.' It is indeed a mystery which the Bible reveals as a fact to be believed.

There are plenty of things we cannot understand about God and His person and works.

Answer

Jesus the Christ was the first born son of the Father in the spirit world. They are two separate and distinct beings, just as you and I are. They both have bodies of flesh and bone, (as borne out by Christ at the Last Supper). Both, with the aid of the Holy Spirit govern all of the universe.

As to Christ sitting on the right hand side of God , this is symbolic of Christ's righteousness, as all who are righteous sit on his right hand side. These are His sheep. The goats, or not so righteous will sit on His left hand side.

it's kinda of like asking "who came first? the chicken or the egg?"

it's sort of a question, and metaphor we'll never completely understand.

Answer:

The problem with modern man's concept of God is that he isn't paying attention to what the Bible says.

Jesus says: "I and My Father are one." (John 10:30)

He does NOT say that they are the SAME PERSON. When He prayed to His Father, He said: "...Holy Father (was Jesus praying to Himself?) keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given Me, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, AS WE ARE." (John 17:11)

Jesus is talking about and praying for HIS DISCIPLES... as well as His "church" which would grow because of the work they would do:

"...Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE; as thou, Father, ART IN ME, AND I IN THEE, that THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US..." (verses 20-21).

"...the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that THEY MAY BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE: I in them, and thou in Me, that THEY MAY BE MADE PERFECT IN ONE..." (verses 22-23).

What is Jesus talking about? He's talking about "oneness of purpose." He's talking about HIS CHURCH! His church is made up of millions of people BEING ONE as He and His Father are One.

Is God's Church, as one, all the same person? Of course not... that's ridiculous. Man has lost touch with the fact that "God" is a "uni-plural" word, like "FAMILY"... one family made up of MORE THAN ONE PERSON. The original Hebrew translated "God" is "Elohim," which is a word like "family" or "group" or "club" or "association." They are all one in purpose, but composed of more than one person.

How is it people keep missing this: "...GOD SAID, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness..." ? (Gen.1:26)

The Bible tells us that God is "two" right now - the Father... and Jesus Christ, His FIRSTBORN SON!!! Yet, this Satan-blinded and deceived world just can't grasp the Truth of what we are being told.

"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that He might be THE FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BRETHREN"!!! (Rom.8:29)

Man either can't grasp... or refuses to believe what the Bible plainly says - God is a FAMILY made up of more than one person. There is presently the Father and His Firstborn Son... and through Christ's "church"... His called-out-ones... His WIFE... the God Family is GROWING IN NUMBER!

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD: and if Children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ..." (Rom.8:16-17).

It's not rocket science. It's as simple, yet, miraculous, as the "physical birth process" which Christ created in the beginning. Not only is He allowing man to participate in the pro-creation of His Family by making the two sexes... but, the very design of the process reveals to us how He is doing it through man's "spirit" - the spiritual equivalent of the "physical female egg," which the Father impregnates with His "Seed,' the Holy Spirit.

That is man's "oneness" with God... having His Seed... His Divine nature dwelling within us... fed by the Bread, the Spiritual nourishment, of His Word, the Bible, the Bread of Life - the Living Word of God. All whom God is "calling" are growing and developing Children of God... as long as they don't stop feeding on God's Bread and conducting themselves accordingly in obedience to His Word.

Contrary to popular belief in the satanic doctrine of the "trinity" in which Satan "limits God" in the minds and hearts of men through its mystical, incomprehensible postulation that God is three persons in one... it also keeps man off-balance spiritually, forever not understanding "why he exists."

God is pro-creating Himself. He's creating the "God Family" through man, made in His image. THEY are working as ONE to make it happen. The few whom God is calling now are able to grasp it and understand. As Jesus prayed... they are "one with their Father" even as Christ is.

They aren't all the "same person"... but they can pray together as one directly to the Father in heaven through His Firstborn Son who sits at His right side. Or, they can pray individually, again, as one with God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, that is not a person, but the flowing river current of God's power that creates the oneness of His Family.

"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the Divine Nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires." (II Peter 1:3-4)

Because Jesus Christ is One with His Father... and not the same person... He is able to sit at His right hand to intercede on our behalf that we may become one with them, in accordance with His Word, as they are one.
