no fluid or burnt clutches maybe front pump i would think clutches
Slipping , slow to move, won't move, shudder, chatter, all are damaging to transmission.
i have the same problem on my 95 Dakota i had to undo the window regulator and move the glass forward to get access to the rod that connects the latch to the door handle it fell off i am still working on it but that's a start for you
transmission goes into gear but wont hardly move
from the furthest caliper from the master cylinder. Start with that one and move closer.
Check the transmission fluid level.
your truck will not go anywhere if the transmission is in neutral, it shouldn't if you are on level ground, by putting the transfer case in neutral you are putting the transmission in neutral which is not a gear
My windshield wiper just stopped moving, I can hear and feel the motor working but the blades dont move.? How do you get to it, looks like you have to remove the cowl and then maybe you can see if something is un-hooked or broke, anyone have a clue?
Do you mean the shifter or car physically does not move? BClear.
Stuck brakes, broken axle shaft, failed transmission....
To adjust the transmission linkage on a 1973 Dodge Truck, first, ensure the vehicle is in park or neutral. Locate the linkage adjustment screw on the transmission and loosen it slightly. Then, move the gear selector through all positions to ensure smooth operation, and adjust the linkage until it aligns correctly with the transmission arm. Finally, tighten the adjustment screw and test the shifting for proper engagement.
It could be the torque convertor or transmission. Try dropping the transmission pan and replacing the transmission oil filter and transmission fluid.
The first and cheapest thing that comes to mind: is the shift cable still intact? There is a cable between the gear selector in the cab and the gear lever on the transmission. Crawl under the car, put someone inside to work the gears when you tell them to, find the gear lever, and have your friend move the gear selector. If the gear lever on the transmission does not move, the cable is broken.
