If a Ford Puma headlamp levelling motor is not working is it likely to be a problem with the electrics or the motor itself?

Based on previous repairing of mine, it could be that the contact inside has worn away. It is a metalic strip, when it gets to the top / bottom the motor stops. I found mine was worn half way down

The dim lights on a 1994 Grand Prix could go out when the headlamp switch is on if there is a short in the wiring for the headlights. There could also be a problem with the bulbs themselves if they were touched during installation. The oils in the fingers can short out new headlights.

hya i had the same problem with mine one day it was working then while driving it just went off if the speedo is electrics ratha than speedo cable then it is the speedo sensor that bolts into the gearbox it should have a connector up from the sensor cable (blue cable) unclip it from there and unbolt i bought sensor from local scrapyard for £10 and replaced it took 5 min easy job hope this helps
