Calculation of preferred dividend does not depend upon the dividend declared at the end of the year. Preferred dividend is fixed and is calculated using the fixed percentage of preferred dividend. For example a company has 1000 shares of 6 preferred stock outstanding, each with par value of $100. 6 mentioned before preferred stock is the dividend rate(6%) to be received by preferred shares. Preferred Dividend = No. of preffered shares outstanding x Par value of each share x Dividend rate. = 1000 x 100 x 6%. = $ 6000. Dividend per share = 6000/1000 = $6
"Closing number?" Closing price is the last price that the stock traded before the closing bell. Closing number could be the amount of shares that traded that day? Not quite clear on the question.
There is no minimum or maximum number of days to hold the shares, you will receive any due dividends provided your name is 'on the register' of shareholders on the date set by the company paying the dividend, you need to buy the shares a few days in advance of this date before they go 'ex dividend' the ex dividend date is usually at least two working days before the register date to allow the keepers of the register to ensure it is up to date and the dividends are paid correctly.

Outstanding capital refers to the number of shares that remain with the stockholders. This is the result of issued shared minus treasury shares and the dividends are paid based on these shares.

A corporation can be any size, what makes it a corporation is that it issues shares and is owned by its shareholders. In principle one person could create a corporation and buy all of its shares himself, making it a privately held corporation with only one shareholder (but this is rare).
The number is obtained by dividing a financial year into sub-periods based on the number of times the number of outstanding shares changes during the year. If it has changed five times, there will be 5 sub-periods. After that, you have to multiply the corresponding fraction of the fiscal year by the number of shares outstanding in that portion of the year. The sum of all the subtotals is a weighted average of outstanding shares. See the link below for an example
