The RPG has a shaped charge warhead that is designed to penetrate several inches of armor plate, using a jet of superheated gas. Striking a petrol tank would result in the petrol tank being blown apart, the fuel being blown to vapor, and a large fireball. Whether it will cause the vehicle to flip over is a matter of angle of impact. Possible, not guaranteed. Total destruction of the SUV a certainty.
