If this number is not what you want it to be, ask your employer to provide you with a new blank form, and insert the amount you'd like withheld. The employer will then begin withholding the amount from your paycheck, and remitting it to the IRS.

Your W-2 (which is usually sent out each January for the prior tax year) will set forth the amount you've been paid for the year, along with the amount of tax that has been withheld, so you can complete your tax forms, and hopefully find yourself with a small refund.
