If an rural carrier associate is not scheduled for the next work day does he have to wait by the phone to see if he is call in to work?

I have found nothing in our contract or the P.O 603 about being available when not scheduled. However, I have given my cell number to the supervisors if they need additional help on my non-scheduled days. It is good money.
