Mostly No. Every check has a validity period usually 90 or 180 days depending on the check type and issuing institution. So if you deposit a check after 6 months, most probably it wont get paid. It is called a Stale or Expired check and the bank does not have to pay you for that check.

I would say the best answer is to go back to Chas Levy with the old check and request a new one. Most banks will not accept a 7 year old check for deposit, and if they did there is a chance the account information or bank may have changed during that time frame. Lastly, since the statues of limitations have expired on this check there would be little to nothing you could do to fight to get it paid.
No. The bank will require a valid identity proof if you want cash for the check. However, if you want to deposit it into your bank account, the bank wont as for any Id. They will accept the check and credit cash into your account as soon as your check gets paid by the issuing bank.

it depends on the type of lease you have and what it states as a proper termination period. If you are on a month-to-month tenancy, the landlord gives you 30 days notice and you move out during that 30-days and have paid a full month's rent, then no, he cannot keep your deposit. If you leave without paying the full month's rent, then yes, your landlord has the right to keep your deposit as "unpaid rent money" unless he/she is able to re-rent the apartment. I believe that RR disability checks are paid out the same as Social Security checks. You are paid in advance for the month. If the beneficiary dies at anytime during the month the entire month's check must be returned.
