If having no conscience is a great advantage why should a sociopath or psychopath seek help?

who says its an advantage? they probably hate not having a conscious.
~It can help out a lot if you're a psychopath and hence born without one. You grow up learning how to best utilize your unique lack of conscience to your advantage. Generally you then get positions of authority because you're able to decisively ruin other peoples lives for the profit of your own life or the company. e.g. A CEO saving money by cutting jobs to 30 people with dependant families.
If you're a sociopath, it's an entirely different matter. You don't have a conscience but you'll more then likely be highly neurotic and feel the need to explode at other people and yourself. Generally this results in a sharp disadvantage since you'd be unable to control yourself.

The characteristic of not having a conscience is the main symptom of sociopathy (same thing as a psychopath) and arises, it is believed, from an inability to connect emotionally with others (i.e., no ability to love or care for others situations). Narcissism is a protrayal of high regard for the self, when really, on the inside, the person has little to no self confidence. This doesn't have to do with a lack of conscience--sometimes narcissists are overly involved and can be insensitive to others, but they have the ability to feel that is wrong. Sociopaths don't. If the two occur together (a narcissistic psychopath) than yes, he/she would be w/o a conscience.

Sociopath: Person whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience. I doubt someone showing interest in horror films at an early age is a sign of them being a sociopath, or having abnormal psychological behaviors. I have liked horror movies since I was a kid, and as an adult I am a professional horror artist. If anything I think it shows that the person of which you speak is showing signs of being able to think 'outside of the box', away from the usual mainstream likes and dislikes. Embrace and encourage unique behavior, as long as it is not harmful to their self or others :)
