Yes.
There is no interaction between the two although most doctors feel that using them both is not necessary and will lead to higher rates of side effects such as diarrhea and so will ask you to stop the docycycline while you take the other antibiotic.
Together they act better. Amoxicillin is one of the best antibiotic for aerobic bacteria. Another drug is metronidazole. It act against most of the anaerobic bacteria.
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic commonly used to treat bacterial infections, including some types of sore throat that are caused by bacteria, such as streptococcal infections. However, it is ineffective against viral infections, which are the most common cause of sore throats. It's important to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis to determine whether amoxicillin or another treatment is appropriate for your specific situation.
I too, recently had this experience. On the second day of taking Amoxicillin, I started having nightmares....something I had not experienced in over 25 years. After the third night in a row of "mini-mares," I switched to another batch of previously presciribed Amoxicillin and did not experience any further nightmares. It's intersting that while both batches of the antibiotic look the same, they smell (and taste) very different. The one that I assoicated with the nightmares had a repulsive taste and smell.
A product made by one mircroorganism to kill off another microorganism is called antibiotic
This depends on several things. Yes, you CAN give a dog an antibiotics. There are several that are used for animals. Will the antibiotic actually treat the problem for which you are giving the pill, I cannot tell from your question. There is also the question of whether the antibiotic is approved for use in animals.
Like any antibiotic, amoxicillin will help to break down the infection in your tonsils, but it will certainly not have immediate relief. In general, it takes between 5-10 days of taking amoxicillin to be rid of strep throat. For an almost immediate relief of the pain I would first try taking some pain pills (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Alive, ect..). Another good remedy is to make a hot cup of green tea with some honey in it. The green tea helps reduce the swelling for quite a while. This seems to relieve a lot of people when they have strep throat. Hope this helps
Augmentin is Amoxicillin plus another drug called clavulonic acid -- thus, taking both together just means you're getting a double dose of amoxicillin. Taking high doses of antibiotics will result in diarrhea, nausea, and maybe heartburn. They will last as long as you take the drugs.
Antibiotics should not be prescribed for toothache, except where the toothache is due to an Abscess, under or around the tooth. In this case, it is normal to prescribe a Broad Spectrum Antibiotic, such as Penicillin, unless the patient is known to react adversely to this, in which case another antibiotic is substituted.
Yes Dayquil is fine to take with amoxicillin, in fact a lot of doctors will prescribe decongestants, antihistamines and cough suppressants along with antibiotics just to make you feel better while the antibiotic does its stuff. Make sure to drink lots of water before and after you're finished taking Amoxicillin. Once you finish the Amoxicillin prescription, eat yogurt with live cultures or take acidophilus to restore the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract.
A sensitivity test, also called antibiotic susceptibility test
Both Amoxicillin and Cephalexin are prescribed medications that would be issued under the treatment of a physician. Therefore, a physician would have to give the directive to use both antibiotics simultaneously. It is unlikely that any physician would prescribe both at the same time. More importantly, both Amoxicillin and Cephalexin are antibiotics, often used to treat the same diagnosis such as urinary tract infection or a sinus infection. What differentiates them is their spectrum classification that relates to their inherent effectiveness to the level of infection. Amoxicillin is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic, treating a smaller range of bacteria than the broad-spectrum antibiotic, Cephalexin. Narrow-spectrum antibiotics tend to be lower in cost, and are often considered the first line of defense especially in milder case infections. When Amoxicillin is ineffective in combating the infection, Cephalexin may be prescribed for a more aggressive course of action due to its broader range of bacteria effectiveness. It would be superfluous to use both Amoxicillin and Cephalexin as their mechanism of action is similar, the disruption of bacterial cell wall synthesis. And given the additive side-effects of using both and the risks of antibiotic resistance developing, it may also be considered irresponsible.
An anthracycline is any of a class of antibiotic, chemotherapeutic agents used to treat cancer.
