The death penalty is a punishment for people who have committed the most hanus of crimes. They are incarcerated and kept on death row until their execution date. This saves lives because often people who get the death penalty are murderes and if hey didn't get executed they would probably get out of jail and kill more people.
it saves innocent lives
The death penalty is the death penalty. It condemns no one. It is a legitimate judicial act of the State. On the other hand, juries condemn people. Juries are part of the judicial system. Juries react to evidence and lawyers' pleadings and questionings, an arguably subjective process. Innocent people die because the judicial system is not perfect and juries and district attorneys and public defenders are fallible. Whenever people are in the loop, there will be errors. On the other hand, there are some people in our society who take lives, commit unspeakable crimes, and need to be held accountable for them. It is for them that the death penalty is reserved, and for whom it is highly appropriate.
This is a highly debated topic nowadays and has been for a while. Is the death penalty too harsh? Is the death penalty the right punishment? In some cases, say a serial murderer, the death penalty is justified because they took or ruined multiple lives and is especially applicable if they feel no remorse. Honestly, there isn't exactly a right or wrong answer to the question of using the death penalty. Situations vary and people's minds also change.
In 1972 the Supreme Court abolished the death penalty on the grounds that is was unconstitutional and was cruel and unusual punishment. I admit the gas chamber would not be a pleasant way to die, but it's nothing compared to what Sharon Tate and her friends had to endure in the last moments of their lives.
People mourned his death and then carried out their normal lives.
Death
That's up to personal opinion. The death penalty is not meant to be a deterrent to the general population, but rather a specific deterrent (i.e. the person who is executed will never kill someone again). What many people don't realize is how many prisoners and prison employees are killed by convicted criminals, which is why I personally believe the death penalty serves an important purpose (saves lives).
Royalists, Aristocrats. The Revolution was followed by the Reign of Terror. People of 'Noble' birth were in fear of their lives. Liberte, Fraternitie & Equalite was taken very literally, unless you were an Aristo on the way to see Madame Guillotine.
no one really lives in the Death Valley but if they do it would be near an oasis
people are afraid of death. Mass death have changed the ruling because people support it, they will do anything to save their lives.
