If it is rising at a rate of 1.2 mm a year and as 3 meters is 3000mm, you divide 3000 by 1.2 then the answer is 2500 years.

1 mm X 10 = 1 cm

1 cm X 100 = 1 metre

Therefore, 3 metres X 100 cm X 10 mm = 3,000
