Why would it be hard to discover a planet that is closer to the sun than mercury
because ...when you look at the sun it hurts your eyes....and it would be harder to see the planet!
In our solar system, the planet Mercury occupies the closest orbit to the Sun. If there is a dwark closer to the sun than Mercury, it would need to be identified and accurately ranged by observations to verify.
The way gravity works, the closer an orbiting body is to the central body, the faster it moves in its orbit. So the planet with the greatest orbital speedwould be Mercury.
The closer to the primary, the faster the orbit. Mercury is closest, and orbits the Sun in 88 days.
The closest known orbiting body to the Sun is the planet Mercury. Smaller bodies passing closer would likely have unstable orbits.

It would be Mercury.
There is no way to survive on mercury
well technically its not a planet no more but Pluto
This would be the planet Mercury.
