In short: The water is naturally recycled by the earth.

Long answer: The water that goes through the hydro-power dam, goes through turbines, in which the water transfers its potential energy to kinetic energy to power the electrical generator. The same water that goes in the hydro-powered dam comes out just with less energy. The water eventually reaches the sea, where it slowly gets evaporated by the sun. This evaporated water slowly forms clouds, which will turn to rain clouds. The rain falls on the ground, and gets slowly funneled into streams, and rivers. Since rivers are typically above sea level, the water has a large amount of potential energy. These rivers then feed back into the hydro-electric dam completing the loop where they again convert there potential energy to electrical energy.

Could hydropower be used in schools?

Yes, hydropower can be used in schools, particularly those located near water sources like rivers or streams. Small-scale hydropower systems, such as micro-hydro turbines, can generate electricity to power school facilities and reduce energy costs. Additionally, integrating hydropower into the school’s curriculum can provide valuable educational opportunities in renewable energy and environmental science. However, feasibility depends on local water resources and regulations.
