The ego is considered to be governed by the reality principle in Freud's model of the personality. It operates based on the reality principle, which seeks to satisfy the id's desires in a realistic and socially appropriate manner.
Neither, their folklore.
Consciousness is a result of physical reality, but this can not be proven philosophically. A philosophical question is whether you, and everything of which I am aware, exist only in my consciousness, not in reality.
The multiverse is a hypothetically infinite reality containing all local regions of space-time governed by their own physical laws called 'universes' including the one known to and experienced by humans.
Physical reality is not about the perception of reality. If you don't believe the egg to be existent try and smash it into someone's head. See what happens. The problem of physical reality is that science over and over again has prooven there being different layers to the reality that seems to be only one. Basically this ends up with everything being energy. But as humans we basically do not perceive ourselves as energy, nor do we perceive our surroundings as mere energy. What probably will never be able to be proven is whether the "film" in the mind of one individual is the same "film" as in another, thus agreeing on what reality is. But perception is not physical reality. What has been proven though is the incongruences between the perception of reality in one individual and in another. People see different things when looking at inkspots on white paper. Which then leaves the question of what then is physical reality. Objectively, we can't really tell. But science has come a long way though. Our knowledge of physical reality has made it possible for us to throw a spear into the water and strike a fish (experience), as it has also allowed us to defy gravity and travel to the moon (theory).
He is neither dead nor alive in reality - Harry Potter is a ficticious person.
Neither ... in a sense they're a model of reality.
