What is osmosis controlled by?
Osmosis is controlled by the permeability of the osmotic membrane and the equilibrium of the solutions on either side of the membrane. If the solutions have unequal concentrations or osmotic pressures, and the molecules in the solution can pass through the membrane, then the solutions will mix until both sides have equal concentrations.
