It could be that he wants to break up...if I were you I would prepare for that possibility.
The best thing is to give him space, don't chase after him, and let him think things through. Maybe he decides that you are right for each other and gets back. Maybe it is the end, but if so you cannot avoid that, continuous calls/texts/etc. will not help.
