It'll get oily...
You shouldn't be asking this question. If you are unsure if you have too much oil, drain it and add only 4 quarts. Running too much oil in a motor can ruin it.
There is not too much oil in Russia.
If you are talking about engine oil in a 4 stroke: the crankshaft beats in in to a foam which dos not lube the bearing very well. If you are talking about using too much mix oil in a 2 stroke: you run too lean and risk burning a piston.
It simply means that you have put in too much oil. This happened to me, you just need to drain a bit out, but not too much. Once you have drained a bit out, BEFORE STARTING, check the level and add if you need. Remember you can always add if you need but if you run with too little, well, that just bad news all around.
If you did not add too much oil then you more than likely have a blown head gasket especially if the oil looks grey, and there is a white foamy substance on the underside of the oil fill cap. You should also be loosing coolant with no apparent leak, and see white smoke from the exhaust.
top of valve cover... should be a cap with a oil symbol ... open it up and pour away! ... but not too much... check with owners manual or internet on how many litres you need. too much oil and you can kiss your seals good bye :(
If you add too much oil to your garden tractor, the first step is to check the oil level with the dipstick to assess how much excess oil is present. If it's significantly over the recommended level, you should drain the excess oil using a siphon pump or by removing the oil drain plug, taking care to dispose of the oil properly. Afterward, refill to the appropriate level as specified in the owner's manual. Always ensure to check the oil level regularly to avoid similar issues in the future.
oil leak, worn rings burning oil if only a quart or two between oil changes not too much to worrie about on some engines but would have checked out.
You will save some calories, but not too much over all. Instead, you will add some sugars and a gram or so of fiber, but you will significantly cut out a lot of fat, too.
remove the oil plug from the bottom of the oil pan and catch with something. let drain for 20 minutes and place plug back in oil pan and tighten. add amount of oil recommended for your engine. start engine and let run for 2 minutes then shut off and check level on dip stick. Do not add too much oil, a little under wont hurt your engine but too much will. Fully synthetic oil recommended.

Most four cylinder cars (as in the Neon) have an oil capacity of about 4 quarts. I would start with three and a half quarts, park the car on level ground, turn off the engine and wait 30 minutes (for all the oil to drain back down into the oil pan) and then check it again and add more as necessary. Just don't add too much at a time. It's a lot easier to add more oil than it is to take some out. And it's very bad for your engine to have too much oil in it. Honestly, I'd rather my car be a quart low on oil than to have half a quart too much oil. Hope this helps. Billy
