If you are 16 and dating a 27-year-old can he go to jail if one of your parents doesn't care that you're dating?

He cannot be thrown in jail if your parents don't care, the only way he would is if someone like a family member or friend tells that you are dating, then he has a slight chance...just make sure he stays on your parents good side. But by the time you've read this you may have broken up because most relationships with MEN and teenage girls don't last long, but if you two are in love, i am sorry to make that comment. if you have sex and get pregnant the state can press charges!!! it happened to me and my boyfriend!! i was 15 when i got pregnant and he was 24 the state pressed charges and now he's in jail . i have to bond him out b-4 dec. 18th and we're getting married, then they will drop the charges. i would be careful. if you really love each other get married and you wont have to take that chance!!! this is just advice from someone who knows from experience. All states have laws regarding relationships between minors and adults. Those laws cover such things as statutory rape which is a class "A" felony, sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, coercion or intimidation of a underaged person, corruption of the morals of a minor, and many others. If one parent objects to the relationship, that parent can file a report and request that charges be brought against the adult. However, all states reserve the right to prosecute adults who violate laws pertaining to minor and adult relationships w/o the co-operation of the minor or the minor's parent(s) or legal guardian. In other words, the adult male is taking a very big risk and may find himself in serious legal trouble. well lets just say (if i was dating an older man) i would at least be more careful and possibly keep it on the down low. its not like i would do anything with him. b/c i respect my self enough to know that waiting is a good and safer way not to end up with a child. when im only lets say 15 or 16. I know better. then if the relationship isn't going so well i would dump him and date guys that are my age. PLain and simple. Bottom line....just don't date the guy, because he's way older, and his mind is WAY older too, you don't know what he might want with you, and if you don't becareful, it can also come down to RAPE, so just breakup with him or whatever, and if he STALKS you..call the police right away. The people that think they can go out with minors bother me sooo much! DISTURBING!
