It depends on what state you live in. If you reside in one of the community property states the debt belongs to both of you. Unless it was incurred before your marriage. You can do a search for your state's exemptions to find out what creditors might be able to attach. The usual action is garnishment of wages or bank account(s). Joint bank accounts can be garnished in some states. Sorry, but not knowing where you reside, it is difficult to be more specific.
