Yes, though your carrier will notify its underwriting department and advise them that you compromised their ability to view the damages prior to repair. This isn't a habit you want to cultivate with the folks holding the checkbook.

It's very possible your carrier could deny the claim, since you didn't follow your policy's conditions by notifying your carrier, but this is unlikely. Most carriers won't put their insured in a position of being sued or sent to collections, as it can become a "bad faith" issue (a very serious charge against any insurance company).

Go ahead and make the claim. It sounds like the damage is minor, anyway, so I bet you won't have any problems.

Who needs homeowners insurance?

Those people who own single family homes, or units such as condominiums or cooperatives, need homeowners insurance. Most homeowners policies provide physical damage coverage for the structure of the home if damage is caused by a covered peril. Another element of the coverage is for the contents of the home, also, if damaged by a covered peril. A very important element of homeowners coverage is the liability coverage that it also provides. That is, it serves as protection for the homeowner/insured if a third party is injured on the insured premises by reason of the fault or neglect of the insured or those for whom he/she/it is legally liable. That protection consists of providing a source of payment to the claimant (indemnity), and if liability or damages are contested, a defense (the insurer hires and pays an attorney to defend the insured). Lastly, anyone who has a mortgage on a home needs homeowners insurance. This will generally be required by the lender in order to ensure that there is a source of funds to repair the home and thereby to preserve the value of the collateral for the mortgage.

The Benefits of Life Insurance?

Life insurance isn't for the deceased, it's for the loving family left behind. There are many benefits to life insurance that make it worth purchasing. Here are some facts to keep in mind when deciding on coverage level. Even dying isn't free. The fact is that funerals can easily cost upwards of $10,000 when buying coverage. Life insurance can also cover lost wages while your loved ones are grieving for you. It can also be used to pay off debts so that your family's remaining earnings can be stretched further. Many young couples neglect to get insurance on a spouse who stays home with the children or perhaps earns less money. However, child care is expensive and will become another bill should that person pass away. Both parents should be insured to adequately protect the family that remains.

Can a HOA board of directors be sued for fiduciary neglect?

If the neglect caused damages then you may have a case. You should consult with an attorney who can review your situation and explain your rights and options.Furthermore, the bylaws of the HOA, or state law, may require that the board of directors maintain insurance covering their acts or neglect in fulfilling their duties. The specifics of that should be investigated. If there is such insurance, it should be readily disclosed to you. Make note of the insurance company name, the policy number, and the persons designated as being insured under the policy. If you consult an attorney for the matter, bring that information with you. It will make a difference in the attorney's assessment of the potential of the case, as insurance may provide a source of money damages.Added: ... not to mention, the attorney's fee.

Will your homeowners insurance cover you if your house burns down as a result of neglect?

This could happen in some rare cases if the neglect is particularly "gross or egregious" in nature. Most homeowners policy forms do have language that releases the insurer from liability for certain types of Gross negligence.

Will ATT replace a damaged cell phone?

If you have an insurance policy on your phone, then you simply pay the deductible and if the damage is warranted (not neglect or wrongful use) it will be replaced. If you don't have insurance on the phone, you are basically out of luck and will have to purchase another one outright. The insurance way is cheaper in the long run.
