Yes you should wear goggles and gloves as a safety precaution so you don't burn yourself and so the ashes don't blowup into your eyes. In addition if you do not know all the materials you are burning you should also consider wearing a Respirator. (Only after you have been Fit Tested)

You can get flame gloves from completing the "All Fired Up" mini-game. 79 firemaking is a requirement to both use them, and complete the mini-game.
Get a bunsen burner, and hold a flask or test tube with the potassium chlorate powder over the flame till it melts into the highly reactive liquid form. Also, be sure to wear a lab coat, some goggles, and gloves before dropping in that gummy bear.
You simply need an ignition source (something to spark the flame) and a fuel (something to keep the flame going).

It can't burn you, it's a safety flame. The blue flame is the real hazard. It is 1800 degrees so do not touch it. Apart from that there is nothing to worry about. P.S. Don't forget to wear safety goggles when doing any chemistry or heating! I hope I helped :)
I would buy everything but you should get flame sagittario.
It means something will stand up to flame for a time.
Look at it this way, you could get them both at the same time or, you could get the ring first and get more experience for burning logs until you reach 79 and then get gloves.
