No, it will not. But!!! It's highly not recommended because you might have some water stock somewhere in the hard drive electronics and together with some dust it's a good conductor. What will happen of you connect such drive to a computer you will damage the hard drive electronics (because of short current) which is not better than destroying of data.

Try using alcohol or a magnet, at least the drive will still work afterwards. A virus on a computer unfortunately only lives within the programming and not as an organism feeding off of the host!
