Both oxygen and hydrogen under normal conditions contain two atoms per mole. 4 moles of oxygen therefore contain 8 moles of oxygen atoms, which is sufficient to make 8 moles of water, since water contains only one oxygen atom per molecule. The 16 moles of hydrogen contain 32 moles of hydrogen atoms. Only 16 moles of hydrogen atoms are needed to make 8 moles of water, which contains 2 hydrogen atoms per mole. Therefore, oxygen is the limiting constituent in this mixture, and 8 moles of water can be made from the specified amounts.

Hydrogen and oxygen (H2O) form water. So there is one Hydrogen atom and 2 Oxygen atoms to make a water molecule.

During photosynthesis water molecules are split into atoms of oxygen and what?

Since water is comprised of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, when it is split into atoms by plants during photosynthesis the only other atoms other than oxygen that are produced are hydrogen atoms.

Is oxygen and hydrogen the same?

Hydrogen and oxygen are two completely different elements. When combined in a chemical reaction, two hydrogen atoms (H2) combine one oxygen atom to form a molecule of water (H2O)
