Not being a doctor, or nutritionist, this will be a lay answer to be replaced or improved when an expert comes along. "...don't eat all day..." implies not eating since waking up and rising. At that point, your blood sugar level in your bloodstream is at its lowest, normally refered [I think] to as "fasting level." If one does not have any food material introduced to the system via eating, digestion, and absorbtion, then body will begin to take its energy supply from itself. If there is body fat, I think it will be utilized first, and assuming the total absense of fat, then the protein of the muscles will be utilized..j3h.
